Sydney Prenatal Yoga Maternity Photographer: Carolyn

Sydney Prenatal Yoga Maternity Photographer: Carolyn

I first met Carolyn when she came to my Prenatal reTREAT Day, a one day prenatal yoga retreat + blessingway. She radiated positivity and calm, and I loved having her there. Not long after, I was absolutely honoured when she asked me to capture photos of her on the beach at sunrise. Carolyn is a yoga teacher and wanted to get some shots for her business, as well as to celebrate her first pregnancy.

To be perfectly honest, I am not exactly a morning person (my husband would scoff at that sentence) but I truly did have a magical morning with Carolyn. The light was perfect, it was pleasantly warm and Carolyn looked like an absolute goddess. Im so excited for her as she prepares to welcome her first baby any day now, and I cannot wait to hear the news!

Sydney Maternity Photographer - a family session

This little girl totally stole my heart at her mum's maternity session. She was so bubbly and joyful, not to mention very excited to become a big sister soon. I have no doubt that she will make the best big sister, and I'm very excited to see her in action when I go to photograph a newborn session for this family very soon!

Sydney Maternity Photographer: Liv

The end of pregnancy is such a special time. You're on the cusp of a huge change, and it's this balancing act between excitement for the future and enjoyment of the present. My friend Liv is in that place now, due to have her first baby very soon. You can just feel how ready and how excited Liv and Dave are to become parents, and also how much they're relishing this time beforehand. And one day very soon, I'll get the call and I'll make my way over to their place to meet their daughter and take newborn photos. Can't wait!

A Yoga Maternity Session: Jemima

A Yoga Maternity Session: Jemima

It's been on my bucket list for a while now to do a yoga maternity session for someone, so when I got Jemima's email I actually squealed with excitement. When we met up last weekend I was expecting to capture her doing simple standing poses like Warrior 1, 2 etc. Boy was I surprised to find that at 36 weeks pregnant Jemima's practice still includes backbends, inversions, you name it! Photographing her and her baby belly was a dream. I'm so excited for her and her partner and can't wait to hear news of their baby's arrival very soon.

This is my friend Neesha. Her due date is 2 days before mine, and it's been so great having a good friend at the exact same stage of pregnancy as me. Last month we decided to do an impromptu maternity session so we headed to Centennial Park at golden hour with her little boy. I'm in love with these photos - the belly, the floral crown, the gorgeous location... it all just came together to create the perfect maternity session.

sydney maternity photographer: katia

Here's a session from way back in June. When Katia got in touch to see if I could do maternity and newborn photos for her, I said "yes please!" We met for a shoot in Bondi, and spent an hour dodging tourists and chasing the sun to get the shot. If you'd like to find Katia you can read her blog here and check out her shop here

sydney maternity photographer: stace

Have I mentioned that I love shooting bellies? That's probably become obvious by now, but I really, really do! I met Stace when she was pregnant with her first baby, and now she's about to have baby #2. They're the sweetest family, and the little one was so patient having a camera in his face for two hours. In fact, all three of them were awesome models. I can't wait to meet this bub; I have a feeling she's a girl, but only time will tell…

p.s. Stace has an awesome blog called A Healthy Mum, where she shares wonderful whole foods recipes. You can find her on Facebook here

sydney maternity photographer: lorraine

It's been raining here in Sydney for the last two weeks. I'm not complaining because I actually enjoy the rain, but it has made organising photo shoots tough. This one kept getting put off because of the bad weather, but with Lorraine's due date fast approaching, we decided to go ahead despite the forecast. As the rain fell, we started out inside, cosy and warm in the family living room. The moment it stopped raining, we walked down to the river, umbrellas in hand. The light was beautiful, and it all worked out perfectly. Baby hasn't arrived yet, but I'll be doing a newborn shoot with him/her when he/she does. And now we wait...

sydney maternity photographer: helen

On Easter Sunday I woke up early to take photos of my friend's belly. Helen started coming to my prenatal yoga classes when she was pregnant with her first baby, a spunky little guy named Dylan. Now she's about to have a girl, and our group of mummy friends will have another baby to dote on.

Sydney maternity photography: Ellen

My friend Ellen was right at the end of her pregnancy and it was a delight to shoot her and her belly. She was in such a good place. Calm and happy, and of course, looking forward to meeting her new baby boy. Exactly two days after these photos were taken, Ellen and Regan welcomed their second son into the world… Finn Manaia Arthur. Congratulations again Ellen, Regan and Noah!
